Top of my wish list is a recognisable roman statue. I've found lots of Roman stuff including a couple of zoomorphic brooches but I'd love a proper statue. Anyone ever found one?

I think if you found a roman statue you might have a bit of difficulty getting it out of the ground. Statues tend to be life size or bigger. I think you mean a statuette a few inches high. You might have a better chance of finding one of those and extracting it from the ground without the aid of an excavator... Grin

Like this one you mean?  No-one was more surprised than me when this popped out of the ground as normally I just find buttons and modern junk from this particular field.
