I was out on Minehead beach this afternoon, and found all of 20 pence and a few ring pulls, and some bottle tops. I did see a couple of other detectorists in the distance - was anyone from here on the beach? If so how did you get on?

I'm becoming a little illusioned with beach hunting. It used to be very lucrative for me but I don't seem to be turning up very much nowadays.

Under piers is a good place to detect on beaches. Especially if there's an arcade on them. I used to detect under Brighton pier years ago. Loads of coins used to fall through the slats.

Apparently thousand of coins got deposited on the surrounding beach when the pier at Western Supermare burnt down (or is that just an old wife's tale?)
